the aim of this study was to determine the relationship of psychological empowerment, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior in physical education teachers in iran high schools and to determine which dimensions of these variables increase organizational citizenship behavior. 330 physical education teachers were selected using multistage cluster random sampling method. spreitzer’s psychological empowerment questionnaire (1996), allen & meyer’s organizational commitment questionnaire (1993) and dipaola et al.’s organizational citizenship behavior questionnaire (2005) were used. to determine the face and content validity, construct validity and reliability, panel of experts, confirmatory factor analysis (1) and cronbach's alpha were used respectively. for developed analyses and to determine causal relationships and to design a model, path analysis was applied. results approved the designed model and showed that psychological empowerment had significant and positive direct and indirect effects (0.46 and 0.66) on organizational citizenship behavior. organizational commitment had a significant and positive effect (0.58) on organizational citizenship behavior and finally psychological empowerment had a significant and positive effect (0.34) on organizational commitment.
